Angela Futch, a Clinician in Training at Best Fit Psychology

Becoming a therapist has been a long-held dream of mine since I first experienced therapy at 16. I graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology and began my career working with at-risk youth. My passion for helping others truly flourished during my 20 years working with low-income seniors.

A few years ago, I decided it was the right time to return to school and pursue my dream of becoming a therapist. I believe my extensive life experiences have uniquely prepared me for this role, allowing me to bring a deeper understanding and empathy to my practice. It is my past that has led me here today.

My goal as a therapist is to help clients find purpose and take actionable steps toward their goals, fostering hope and progress. I deeply value positivity, gratitude, and compassion, and I strive to extend these principles both in my personal life and professional practice. Under the supervision of Dr. Barron, I will work hard to help my clients achieve their goals in therapy through a Narrative Therapeutic lens.

I also volunteer at Omega House, a hospice for individuals with HIV/AIDS, and teach fused glass art to seniors. Outside of work, I enjoy creating art, spending time with my two rescue dogs, Gunner and Sargent, and practicing yoga. My husband and I have been married for 29 years and we love antique shopping together.
